4.6.1. Purpose of information products

Prev Next

Information products will be developed for specific goals and purposes, dependent upon the HPC cycle and/ or context. Products are a critical element of IM and facilitate the communication of specific messages to the respective audience. Products can both monitor the response (see HPC diagram) but also help direct operations. At the gFSC we require that specific dashboards (see below) are developed and disseminated to partners, stakeholders, CLAs and cluster members on a regular basis (aligned to the 5Ws). The mandatory products refer to Partner Presence, Gap Analysis and Response Dashboard. This is seen as the minimum standards required to ensure effective communication for all interested parties. As is the case in emergencies, ad-hoc products will likely be required to respond to specific shocks and/or events. Many examples are available on the FSC website (see Emergencies Dashboards: FSL Sudan 2025, Turkey-Syria EarthQuake Response).

To support the development of these products, standardized gFSC templates are available and can be adapted to the operational context. Additionally, Tableau integration allows for automation of reporting processes, enhancing efficiency and ensuring timely dissemination of information products.
