1.6.8 IMO Handover Checklist

Prev Next

It is important that transitions between incoming and outgoing IMOs are smooth and that no information and/ or data is lost (please note we use Sharepoint to ensure that data is stored on the cloud and not on individual laptops, see Chapter 6.5: Sharepoint).

Ideally an in-person handover will be undertaken, although this may not always be possible. Nevertheless, it is vital that a comprehensive handover note is always prepared and that the respective gFSC focal point is briefed/ updated. The content of the Handover Note will be specific to the operations. For example, during an emergency scale up the tasks will be quite different to a regular response. Please see Emergency Onset Handover Note, FSC Ukraine Emergency scale up Handover Note as examples of Handover Notes developed to inform an incoming IMO during an emergency scale up/ sudden onset emergency.

The gFSC have developed a Handover checklist to be completed (by outgoing IMO) and reviewed (by incoming IMO). It is recommended that you refer to this checklist during your posting to ensure that all structures and requirements are prepared in advance.
