1.6.4 IM Mapping of Structure and Processes

Prev Next

Understanding and mapping the structure of the IM team (FSL Ukraine example here) and workflows is a beneficial exercise that can help the incumbent team understand and reconceptualise their operations while also acting as a useful resource to be included in the IM Handover Checklist (here).

Mapping of the IM workflow can focus on (i) the human resources of the IM team, for instance, in the cases where there are multiple IMOs, it is useful to map areas of responsibility (see FSC Somalia HR mapping here) and/or (ii) on the IM workflows that can be mapped and discussed with the intention to review the structure and make efficiency improvements (see FSC Somalia example here).

The gFSC IM colleagues can support in mapping the current IM Team and Workflows, and suggesting adjustments to improve efficiency. This has been undertaken in FSC DRC here.
