Strategic plans are developed with the global FSC partners, building on their diverse expertise, and with guidance from the global SAG every three years. The strategic plan should be supported by a work plan and a budget against which the gFSC should report during its annual global partners’ meetings, as well as through an annual report.
Along with the guidance from the SAG, the Food Security Cluster 2023-2025 Strategic Plan provides a clear direction for the work of FSCs (and sectors) at country level, as well as for the GST. It focuses on four pillars, alongside cross-cutting themes.
Pillars of the Food Security Cluster Strategic Plan 2023-2025:
What is the FSC Coordinator’s role? The FSC Coordinator’s work is guided by the cluster strategy, and he/she should work in line with its key pillars. However, although the strategic pillars should be applied where relevant, Coordinators are not limited by these and can include additional areas of work according to the context and specific country requirements.
The cluster strategy is prepared, developed and shared with all global partners. Partners at country level should therefore also be aware of the priority areas of cluster focus.
Key Indicators: The cluster strategy incorporates a list of key indicators, which can help the FSC Coordinator build on each of the identified priorities. See the key indicators included in the Food Security Cluster 2023-2025 Strategic Plan.
