Article summary

In 2015, global partners agreed to establish a Strategic Advisory Group (SAG) as a permanent body to advance the gFSC strategic direction and overall workplan (see Terms of Reference).

Objective: The objective of the SAG is to provide strategic guidance to the gFSC and facilitate accountability to its partners, in particular by reviewing the performance of the gFSC, overseeing the implementation of the work plan, and supporting gFSC functions as appropriate.

The SAG works closely with the GST and the GCCs with the latter regularly updating the CLAs on the work of the SAG and the strategic advice emerging from SAG deliberations.

Members: The SAG is composed of 9 members representing the two CLAs (WFP and FAO ), two GCCs and four NGOs (global partners) elected for a two-year period, on a rotational basis, as well as one representative of the FSC Coordinators at country level.

What is the FSC Coordinator’s role? The Coordinator’s work is, indirectly, guided by the work of the SAG and its strategic guidance on the direction for the FSC’s priorities. See the SAG webpage for further detail. If you wish to reach out to SAG, please contact sag@fscluster.org.
