In order to effectively meet its responsibilities, the gFSC organises and coordinates its activities through a management approach that allows for participation and at the same time streamlines decision making. 

The gFSC structure has been informed by IASC guiding principles and generic terms of reference for existing global clusters. This structure can be seen in this diagram.
